The Danieli is a luxury hotel in venice is a masterfully restored palace synonymous with the splendor and romance of Venice. The property lies just steps away from the Piazza San Marco and its Basilica as well as legendary sites such as the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. The hotel's main building is the original 14th century palace of Doge Dandolo's family, a Venetian Gothic landmark lavishly appointed with pink marble, stained glass, ceilings decorated with golden leaves, Murano glass chandeliers and antiques. These glorious interiors are rivaled only by the captivating panoramic views from the rooftop restaurant, La Terrazza Danieli. Location of the hotel is excellent - the view from the terrace restaurant is superb.

Disadvantages-

On asking for some advice on a particular wine we were told dismissively that "all our wines are good" - disappointing as this is not a cheap experience!

Advantages+

The fantastic over the lagoon. Service was also very high - they really wanted to help, even when the hotel was busy.

Disadvantages-

Everything was very expensive but it is a 5* hotel in Venice so you can expect nothing else! having a room overlooking the lagoon was great.
