Founded in 1871, the Hotel Plaza e de Russie was the very first hotel to be built in Viareggio, an acknowledged destination in the age of the Grand Tour. Dining	The view of the top restaurant La Terrazza embraces both the Tyrrhenan sea and the Apuane mountains. The unforgettable sunsets complement the refines Mediterranean couisine.
Information on the area	There are many things that make Viareggio and Versilia special. First, there are the splendid white sandy beaches of the area, which extend for 20km and are 200m deep, gradually dipping into the sea and ensuring a safe, relaxing swim. Then there are the vast, uncontaminated woodlands that border the beaches, providing a cool, fresh scented climate, and Lake Massaciuccoli is a surprising jewel to be discovered. But it's not just nature that makes the area extraordinary. There is also its history and its culture. As part of the itinerary during the age of the Grand Tour towards the end of the 19th century, European aristocrats met in the area's elegant lounges, and over the years, people from throughout Italy an the world continued to come here. Some of the most important annual events include the Mardi Gras festival (or "Carnevale"), which is famous throughout the world, the Viareggio Lierary Awards, one of the most prestigious of its kind, and the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, where Giacomo Puccini lived and composed most of his works and where his home has become a museum open to visitors. Lucca is just a few kilometers away, as are a variety of other beautiful Tuscan cities, all of which will provide you with unforgettable memories.
By Car	Take the A12 motorway to the Viareggio – Camaiore exit. Follow the directions to Viareggio and continue for around 3km. Turn left at the second traffic light, continue for 1km, and at the second traffic light, turn left until reaching the hotel after around 4km
